My Friend Sean is going to London, I'm jealous, so here's some Oasis.

So this week's song for Soundtrack of My Life is Wonderwall by Oasis. What a great song written by Noel Gallagher. Released in 1995 off of the album (What's the Story)Morning Glory? this song was voted #1 best British song of all time in a poll conducted by Virgin Radio. U2's guitarist The Edge has said this is a song he wishes he had written.
Ditto.
One of the cool things about this song is that Ryan Adams covered it, and his version so heavily influenced Gallagher, that Gallagher performs it live now in the style of Ryan Adams - not the way he originally wrote and performed it. My friend +Sean Keenan introduced me to Ryan Adams one night after a delicious dinner and during an impromptu jam session. Of course I will be forever grateful because Ryan Adams is now one of my favorite contemporary artists.
I decided to cover it the old fashioned way though because it is the version that was so meaningful to me.
I was living in London when this song was released. It was a HUGE hit in the UK. It was played everywhere and yet, I never tired of it. The beauty of this song and the fragility of the Gallagher brothers' relationship really made Oasis a band everyone was watching.  Even now, their dynamic is fascinating. My friend Sean is going to London and will get to rub elbows with the Gallaghers...................AAAGH! SO JEALOUS! Where's my +1 Sean?????????
So while he is off galavanting around London having tea and feeding pigeons at Trafalgar Square, my friend David Feldstein and I filmed this feel good cover at David's house. David and his wife Stacey were kind enough to let me use their cool music room to film since the guys at Down Fenix Media (www.downfenix.com) have been slammed at work and were unable to film.
